JK Educators hold a Live Interactive session on "Violence Against Women"

JK educators hold a live interactive session on topic titled " Violence Against Women with special emphasis on Domestic Violence" for a duration of one hour through Facebook, Friday evening.

Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo and Danish Khatana , two top educators from J & K  conducted the session and raised all the important concerns regarding the issue of Violence Against Women. The session was joined by viewers around the globe.

The session was highly interactive , well thought out, question- based covering all the important aspects of Violence Against Women. The special emphasis was laid on Domestic Violence in the context of its extent, definitions , theories , types and various forms and the necessary ways to control this menace . The educators stressed upon the need of sensitivity generation among society, education promotion ,multi-sectoral coordination/contribution, designing of a comprehensive strategy from Central and State Governments, effective legislation and crucial need of mass awareness campaigns to effectively address the menace of domestic violence in the society.

Later on a question-answer session was held where the viewers put their questions regarding the core elements of the topic and were answered by the concerned educators.

Pertinently, Violence Against Women has shown a very rapid increase in the number of cases during the last few years and as per a recent report by World Health Organization - at least 33.33 percent of women around the world are experiencing one or other form of Violence against them. 

In concluding minutes of the session, the educators paid vote of thanks to audience for attending the live session and said that such live sessions are need of the hour to understand and highlight core social menaces prevalent in the society.
