Contractors locked horns again, says Dy Mayor leveling baseless allegation against them

Srinagar, Apr 26; Contractors who are on strike from last three days on Friday Protest against Dy Mayor in Srinagar. Scores of contractors who assembled at Press Enclave demanded clearance of bills which they claimed were pending with the government and public apology of Dy.Mayor.
Farooq Ahmad Dar Chairman JKCCCC said that serious allegations are being leveled against them by the officials while as the fact is that authorities have failed to release the amount of the works done by them.
He said the Dy Mayor has leveled serious allegations against them again and has failed complaint contractors.
Dar said “After a complaint was filed against us by Dy Mayor, some of the contractors were detained by the police following which over 100 contractors went to the police station voluntarily as mark of protest.”
Secretary JKCCCC and senior leader Municipal contractor’s coordination committee Arshid Ahmed Bhat said that they have boycotted the works now and have also locked down the offices of works division and corporate hall.
